Dehradun: After hogging headlines in the recently-concluded ICC Men's ODI World Cup, India pacer Mohammad Shami turned a good Samaritan as he rescued a road accident victim in Nainital.

This came into the public domain after Shami posted a video on Instagram, in which he could be seen helping the accident victim, whose car fell from the hill road.

Captioning the video, Shami said, "He is so lucky god gave him second life. His car fell down from the hill road near Nainital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely."

Shami's performance has been excellence, and the pacer ended up as the highest wicket-taking bowler with 24 dismissals in the World Cup. Initially, he was not even considered and was dropped for the first four matches, but was drafted in the fifth match after Hardik Pandya suffered an injury.

In his very first match in the World Cup, Shami bagged 5 wickets for 54 against New Zealand, and in the semifinals, he snapped up seven wickets. (UNI)
