Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the IPL match here on Saturday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
While chasing a target of 161 runs, Rajasthan got off to a good start as both Ajinkya Rahane and Liam Livingstone shared a 78-runs-partnership for the first wicket and laid the foundation. But Livingstone was dismissed on a score of 44 runs. He was caught by Wriddhiman Saha over Rashid Khan ball.
Soon after livingstone walked to pavilion, all the eyes were on former Rajasthan skipper Rahane and it was expected that he would stay on the crease till the last ball, but he too after adding 15 runs with Sanju Samson to his team total departed for 39 runs off 34 balls. His innings included 4 fours and 1 six. He was caught by David Warner on Shakib Al Hasan's ball.
Later, Steven Smith and Sanju Samson who scored (48 runs off 32 balls) and remained unbeaten played handsomely and did the rest job but Smith was dismissed on a score of 22 runs off 16 balls. Smith left Rajasthan on a score of 148/3.
Later, Ashton Turner and Samson took their team to a seven wickets victory.
For, Hyderabad Shakib Al Hasan, Rashid Khan and Khaleel Ahmed took one wicket each. (UNI)
