Ahmedabad: The Delhi Capitals clinched a comfortable six-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans in the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Wednesday.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals' decision proved beneficial as they restricted the Gujarat Titans to a meager total of 89 runs. The Gujarat batting lineup struggled throughout their innings, with wickets falling at regular intervals.

Rashid Khan was the lone warrior for Gujarat, top-scoring with 31 runs off 24 balls. In pursuit of the target, the Delhi Capitals got off to a brisk start but lost early wickets. Jake Fraser-McGurk was the top scorer for Delhi, contributing 20 runs off 10 balls.

However, quickfire innings from Shai Hope (19 runs off 10 balls) and valuable contributions from captain Rishabh Pant (16*) and Sumit Kumar (9*) guided Delhi to victory in just 8.5 overs, finishing at 94/4. Sandeep Warrier was the most successful bowler for Gujarat, claiming two wickets, while Spencer Johnson and Rashid Khan managed to pick up one wicket each.

On the other hand, Delhi's bowlers put on an exceptional performance, with Mukesh Kumar leading the charge with three crucial wickets. Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs supported him well, picking up two wickets each, while Axar Patel and Khalil Ahmed chipped in with one wicket apiece.

With this win, the Delhi Capitals climb up the IPL standings, showcasing a dominant all-round performance against the Gujarat Titans.

The Delhi Capitals will be looking to carry forward this momentum in their upcoming matches, while the Gujarat Titans will aim to bounce back from this setback.

Brief scores: Gujarat Titans: 89 all out in 17.3 overs (Rashid Khan 31; Mukesh Kumar 3-14). Delhi Capitals: 94/4 in 8.5 overs (Jake Fraser-McGurk 20; Sandeep Warrier 2-18)
