Ahmedabad: Rajasthan Royals Captain Sanju Samson has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 23 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, here on Wednesday night.

As this was his team’s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Samson was fined INR 24 lakhs, an IPL statement said.

The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, will be fined either Rs Six lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans (GT) earned the top spot on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 points table with another statement performance to make it four victories on the trot.

An all-round batting effort, once again led by Sai Sudharsan, followed by another high-caliber outing in the field, gave the Shubman Gill-led team a 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 23 here.
