Kolkata: Veteran Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami added a feather on her cap as she achieved another personal milestone breaching the 600 mark in career wicket.
She achieved this feat against Australia’s captain Meg Lanning who was caught behind for a duck in the 3rd ODI between India and Australia at McKay on Sunday.
"She is a living legend. At 38 she is still one of the fittest in the team and can change matches with her bowling prowess. I congratulate her on behalf of CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal).
She has made us all very proud," said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
Goswami now has 240 ODI wickets at 21.59, while she has claimed 41 wickets in 11 Tests at 17.63 and has 56 T20I wickets in 68 matches, taking her tally of international wickets to 337.
Add to that another 264 wickets in the domestic circuit.
Goswami claimed Lanning after sending back Rachael Haynes to hand. India has an early advantage in the 3rd ODI. India won the nail-biter defeating Australia by two wickets with three balls to spare. Jhulan Goswami, who set the game up with 3 for 37, sealed victory with the bat in the final over. (UNI)
