Sydney: Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) pacer Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to minor hip injury, Cricket Australia said on Friday.

Cummins is heading back to Sydney, where he will complete his rehabilitation and is expected to make full recovery ahead of next month's Sri Lanka tour.

In the mega audition held in February, Knight Riders secured Cummins' services for the fifth time for Rs 7.25 crores.

The Australian quick, ranked world's no. 1 Test bowler, has played five games for KKR this season and has picked up seven wickets. He has also registered joint-fastest 14-ball half-century in the history of the IPL against Mumbai Indians. (UNI)
