, Saturday, 10 August 2019 (12:37 IST)
Panaji: After cricketers Saurav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh, former India Captain Rahul Dravid on Friday got support former Anil Kumble who said every profession has conflict of interest and it depends how one deals with it.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Kumble said,''I think every profession has conflict of interest in every walk of life. How you deal with it, how you disclose those prior what you are involved is most critical. Lots of people know that you are involved in so and so and so and so. I don't think there is any conflict of interest. Its unfortunate that every cricketer only has to deal with the conflict of interest.''

The former Indian Cricket Coach said that there were few cricketers who could contribute to the game and if someone did not want them to contribute then they could find out someone else.

'' Only few of them can contribute, there are only few cricketers who have played for India. Its only 300 as of now and out of 300 I guess 50 per cent are living and only those could contribute to the game. I you don't want them to contribute to the game then I think you should find somebody else to contribute to the cricket,'' he said.

He was reacting to a question asked on notice sent by ethics committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cricketer Rahul Dravi for alleged conflict of interest.

Recently, in a tweet, Saurabh Gangule had said, ''New fashion in indian cricket .....conflict of interest ....Best way to remain in news ...god help indian cricket ......Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer.''

While Harbhajan Singh had tweeted,''Really ?? Don't know where it's heading to.. u can't get better person thn him for indian cricket. Sending notice to these legends is like insulting them.. cricket need their services for betterment.. yes god save indian cricket.''(UNI)
