Mumbai: In a major development, Rishabh Pant has been declared fit to participate in the upcoming TATA IPL 2024 as a wicketkeeper-batsman after recovering from his life-threatening accident.

This was confirmed by BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah on Tuesday. Rishabh had met with a life-threatening accident near Roorkee in Uttarakhand on 30 December 2022.

On the other hand, pacers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammad Shami have been ruled out of the IPL 2024, Shah said.

Krishna is currently being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and will resume rehab at the National Cricket Academy soon, he said.

Shami underwent surgery on 26 February 2024, for his right heel problem and is currently being monitored by the BCCI medical team, Shah said.

Despite these setbacks, the anticipation for the TATA IPL remains high, with fans eagerly awaiting the action-packed tournament.
