Sachin Tendulkar, cricketing legends mourn Graham Thorpe's loss

Bengaluru: In a poignant outpouring of grief, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has paid tribute to the late Graham Thorpe, who passed away at the age of 55.
 
Tendulkar, renowned for his own illustrious career, described Thorpe as "a naturally gifted, free-flowing batsman who played fearlessly and with flair."
 
 
Former teammates and rivals have also shared their tributes. VVS Laxman recalled Thorpe as a "wonderful left-hander" with an endearing character, while Yuvraj Singh remembered him as a jovial and affectionate figure.

Ian Bishop expressed disbelief over Thorpe’s passing, reflecting on his exceptional skills and tenacity as a batsman. Wasim Akram, who faced Thorpe as a bowler, described him as a gentleman and one of the finest left-handed batsmen he ever encountered, sending his deepest sympathies to Thorpe’s family.
 
Alec Stewart, a close friend and former colleague, shared a heartfelt statement, remembering Thorpe as both an extraordinary cricketer and an even more remarkable person.
 
Stewart's tribute underscored his personal loss and sent his thoughts to Thorpe’s wife, Amanda, and their children.
 
As the cricketing community comes to terms with the loss of Graham Thorpe, his legacy as a remarkable player and cherished individual continues to be celebrated.
