Kolkata: Sourav Ganguly, who is set to be relieved from the post of Indian cricket board president early next week, is now eyeing a return to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) as president at the month end.
The former India captain told reporters at Eden Gardens here that he is keen to throw his hat in the ring for the CAB top slot in the upcoming elections.
The last date for nomination is October 22 and the election, if necessary, would be held on October 31.
Ganguly, now the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is set to make way for 1983 World Cup winning team member Roger Binny at the organisation's Annual General Meeting on October 18.
Ganguly was the CAB president before taking the top BCCI slot in 2019. (UNI)
