U-19 WC: Raghuvanshi, Bawa shines in India's record 326-run win over Uganda

Trinidad and Tobago: India took home an impressive 326-run victory in the ICC World Cup Under-19 at the Brian Lara Stadium.

After posting the highest total so far by scoring 405 for 5, India bundled out minnows Uganda for 79 under 20 overs and ended the group stage with three wins from three matches on Saturday.

Batting first, India and lost opner Harnoor (15) in the eighth over. Nishant Sindhu also departed after contributing 15 runs. Then, Angkrish Raghuvanshi found an able partner in the form of left hander Rajangad Bawa.

The left and right hand combination punished all the Ugandan bowlers as they posted their authoritative centuries. Raghuvanshi and Bawa together built a monumental 206-run stand for the third wicket. The duo took the total to 291 for 3 in 37.5 overs from 85 for 2 in 15.1 overs.

The fruitful partnership was broken, when Raghuvanshi was caught by Kakuru off Yunusu Sowobi. Angkrish's 120-ball 144 contained 22 boundaries and four sixes. At the other end, Rajangad Bawa slammed an unbeaten 162. He played an aggressive innings in 108 and reached the fence 14 times besides lofting the Ugandan bowlers over the fence eight times.

Pascal Murungi was Uganda's most successful bowler (10-0-72-3). Facing an undaunted task of scoring an impossible task of scoring 406 for dream victory, Uganda were bowled out for just 79 runs under 20 overs.

Only Pascal Murungi could face the Indian bowlers with some confidence as he scored 34 before he was adjudged leg before wicket off Nishant.

Nishant broke the backbone of Uganda by claiming four wickets after conceding just 19 runs in 4.4 overs, one of which was maiden.
