London: England were 53 for three at stumps, trailing India by 138 runs on day one of the fourth Test, here on Thursday.

Joe Root and Dawid Malan then added 46 runs before Umesh Yadav picked up the big wicket of the England captain.

Earlier, India were all out for 191 in their first innings with Chris Woakes taking four wickets and Ollie Robinson grabbing three.

For India, Virat Kohli (50 off 96 balls) and Shardul Thakur (57 off 36 balls) were the top-scorers.
