, Tuesday, 19 February 2019 (15:17 IST)
Dubai: Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Perera leapfrogged 58 places in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings after one wicket win against South Africa in Durban while Indian skipper Virat Kohli remained static at top and Chesteshwar Pujara also maintained no 3 position.
Kohli and Pujara are the only two Indian batsman standing in the top ten. Kohli occupies no 1 slot with 992 rating points while New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson remains unchanged at no 2 with 897 points and Pujara at third with 881.

The left-handed Perera has reached a career-best 40th position after 15 Tests, scoring 51 and an unbeaten 153 that guided his team to an improbable win, partnering in the highest ever unbroken 10th wicket stand in a winning cause in first-class cricket. He added 78 runs for the last wicket with Vishwa Fernando (six not out) to beat an 83-year record set by the Australians against Madras in February 1936.

Among the bowlers, Australian pacer Pat Cummins leaves behind South Africa's Kagiso Rabada to earn top position without taking the field as the South Africa fast bowler finished with only three wickets in the match. Cummins is the first from his country since Glenn McGarth in February 2006 to top the Test bowlers' list.

Cummins is leading the bowlers table ahead of England's James Anderson and Rabada of South Africa. For India bowlers,  Ravindra Jadeja stands firm at no 5 with 794 points. While in the all-rounders list Jadeja's rankings remains unchanged at no 3 with 387 points and West Indies Jason Holder and Bangladesh Shakib-Al Hasan stand static at no 1 and 2 spot with 439 and 415 points. Jadeja is the Indian to feature in the top 5 position in the all-rounder list.
