A poster near a liquor shop in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur has gone viral on the social media. The poster said “Din dahade English bolna seekhein (Learn to speak English fluently in broad daylight)”.
At first glance, the poster appears to advertise English-speaking classes, but a closer look reveals an arrow directed towards the nearby liquor shop.
The unique poster is attracting widespread attention and criticism as well.
Several locals and students called it baseless to link English speaking with alcohol consumption.
Collector Bhavya Mittal said that she learned about the poster through the media. The Collector has now directed the Excise Department to take action against those responsible for putting up the poster and ensure its removal.
