In another case of Google Maps going wrong, two men, who were on their way to a hospital, drove their car into a swollen river but had a miraculous escape as the vehicle got stuck to a tree in Kerala.

The shocking incident took place in Kasargod district.

The two were heading to Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada with the help of Google Map's navigation in the early hours.

Abdul Rasheed, one of the men, said Google Maps showed a narrow road and they drove their car through it.

"Using the vehicle's headlight, we felt that there was some water in front of us. But, we didn't see that there was a river on both sides and a bridge in the middle. There was also no sidewall for the bridge," he told a TV channel.

The car drifted away 200 meters and later got stuck in a tree on the shores of the river. The duo somehow managed to lower the windows and informed to their relatives about the accident over the phone who alerted the fire force department.

Fire Force personnel rushed to the place and pulled out the two men to safety using ropes.

Last month a group of tourists from Hyderabad who were heading to Alappuzha from Munnar tourist spot in Idukki met with a similar accident. All the four had a narrow escape then as local people and fire and rescue service personnel rescued them.
