“I have been framed”: 65-yr-old sextortion victim burst into tears after daughter's questions, lost 17 lakhs

A 65-year-old businessman fell victim to a sextortion scam, losing Rs 17 Lakh.

According to the complaint, the man from Pandu Nagar, received a WhatsApp video call on 30 January 2023.

Before he could understand anything, a girl in front of him started doing objectionable acts. The victim immediately disconnected the phone.

After some time, screenshots, which were taken during the video call, came on his WhatsApp. Subsequently, the woman demanded money from him, threatening to send the screenshots to his family members.

Frightened, the victim sent them Rs 17 Lakh from 2023 to 2024.

Even after paying Rs 17 lakh, the scamsters demanded more money. Then he sold the gold jewelery and sent the money. One day his daughter noticed that her father's gold rings and chain were missing.

When she asked, the victim started crying and said that he has been framed. He had been the victim of blackmailing for the last one year. He was giving the money to avoid defamation. He sold his gold chain and ring.
