Swanky youtuber PUBG Madan arrested for hosting obscene chats

Chennai:YouTuber PUBG Madan, who has been facing charges of hosting obscene chats with minors and women and live streaming gaming videos, was today arrested by the Cyber Crime Wing police in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu.

He was arrested from a house in Dharmapuri, police sources said. He was being brought to Chennai for judicial remand.The arrest of Madan Manikkam, also known as PUBG Madan, comes a day after his wife Krithika was arrested and remanded in judicial custody last evening.
 
As complaints started pouring in, Madan went missing and police have launched a manhunt to trace him, leading to his arrest in Dharmapuri today.
 
Acting on complaints, police have registered a case under the provision of Information Technology Act and IPC against Madan and his wife, who are natives of Salem.

After suffering losses in an eatery business, Madan launched a YouTube channel to teach tricks to play video games such as PUBG in 2019. Despite the government imposing a ban on PUBG, he continued to livestream videos through his channels.

Police arrested Kiruthika, who was a group administrator, after confirming that the anonymous woman with whom Madan often conversed in an obscene manner was his wife. Police recovered laptops, computers and mobile phones from their house at Vengavasal.Police also seized two luxury cars and also freezed his bank accounts.(UNI)
