A retailer in Kuwait has been hogging the limelight for selling ‘trendy sandals’ at whopping 4500 Riyals (Rs 1 lakh). The video caught the attention of several Indians who find it similar to ‘hawai chappal’ that are usually worn for bathroom.
The viral video shows the slippers being displayed in a mall. A salesman shows the slippers to the customers and explains how comfortable they feel. The caption of the video said: "The latest fashion 'Zanouba' at a price of 4500 riyals."
The video clip has garnered a variety of reactions online from Indians.
“This is our hawai chappals. Sold for Rs 50 on footpaths,” a user commented.
Another user shared, “So we have been using 4500 riyal slippers for the toilet our whole life.”
“At this point, they are just trying to sell anything to the rich,” shared another user.
“Our family bathroom slippers. In India, you can find these slippers in just Rs 60 on the footpath,” remarked another user.
