A Houston youth, Rudy Farias, who had gone missing for 8 years, has revealed that his mother made him play daddy and forced him to engage in inappropriate behavior, according to a community activist.
Farias was said to have disappeared on 6 March 2015 after going for a walk with his dogs. His mother, Janie Santana, reported him missing when the dogs returned home without him.
However, on 29 June 2024, Farias was found with cuts and bruises outside a church in Houston, after eight years of being missing.
As per report by Fox26 Houston, his re-emergence led to the unraveling of a web of lies surrounding his “disappearance” and efforts to keep him hidden from police and the public.
Local activist Quanell X, who was present when authorities were questioning Farias, said, “He said that his mother would make him sleep in the bed with her. He said that she made him play daddy. He said that he didn't like getting in the bed with her. That he would try to sneak out of the bed and sometimes hide under the bed, but she told him, he had to be her husband.”
According to X, Farias’ mother would hide him in the house when investigators would come to the home.
Farias reportedly told X he initially ran away because he was tired of her not respecting his personal boundaries and he was tired of living like a slave.
As per X, Farias told him he was forced to sleep in bed with no clothes on.
She was giving him drugs and would lock him in a room. She convinced him when he initially disappeared but returned home, he would get in trouble for running away and law enforcement would arrest him, so he had to be in hiding, X claimed.
Though he had been missing for 8 years, Farias would be taken to work by the mother to do her own job for her and see neighbors, X further added.
Farias’ elder brother died in a 2011 motorcycle accident then when his father, a disgraced Houston Police officer, took his own life in 2014.
