Srinagar: The J&K Police on Wednesday said they have "identified" a woman who hurled a petrol bomb at a Central Reserve Police Force bunker in Kashmir.
Officials said "the burqa clad woman" threw a petrol bomb at the CRPF bunker in Sopore sub district in north Kashmir on Tuesday evening.
The CRPF said the suspect clad in burqa threw a Molotov cocktail at the bunker of a Company of 179 Battalion in Sopore.
“The Molotov landed outside the perimeter of Morcha. There was no injury or loss,” a CRPF officer said.
A CCTV footage of the incident showed the woman hurling a petrol bomb towards the bunker at the main chowk in Sopore and later escaping from the spot. Soon after the blast, the CRPF men rushed outside the bunker and were seen dousing the flames.
“The woman has been identified and will soon be arrested,” Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said. (UNI)
