A 20-year-old youth in Uttar Pradesh experienced a life-changing event when he went to bed as a man and woke up as a woman.
The shocking incident was reported from Muzaffarnagar.
Mujahid, a resident of Shahpur area in the district, worked at a Paper Mill on Bhopa Road.
Mujahid alleged that he was deceived by Om Prakash, his co-worker at the mill, into undergoing gender reassignment surgery.
Mujahid also alleged that Om Prakash had been 'sexually exploiting' him for several months after threatening to kill his family.
Mujahid claimed that he was falsely told that he had a medical issue and Om Prakash took him to a local medical college where allegedly he was administered anaesthesia and the doctors performed the sex-change operation.
"He brought me here, and the next morning I had an operation. When I regained consciousness, I was told that I had been changed from a boy to a girl," Mujahid said.
"He said, 'I changed you from a man to a woman and now you have to live with me. I have prepared a lawyer and prepared a court marriage for you. Now I will shoot your father and the land of your share will be named after me and then I will sell it and go to Lucknow'," Mujahid further said.
Mujahid later informed his family about the incident and his father filed a police complaint on June 16.
This incident sparked protests led by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) at the medical college, demanding immediate action against Omprakash and the doctors involved.
Police have assured demonstrators of a thorough investigation.
However, hospital authorities denied the Mujahid’s claim that he was deceptively operated on.
