Gunshots were heard outside the residence of actor Salman Khan in Bandra early this morning, Mumbai Police said.
At around 5 am today, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Galaxy Apartment, in Bandra, and sped away from the scene.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident. In response to the alarming incident, security around Salman Khan's residence was immediately bolstered.
Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has reached the spot for investigation. A team of forensic science experts also reached the site.
A bullet also hit the first floor of the building where the 'Dabangg' actor resides, police said, adding that a foreign pistol was used in the firing. Mumbai Police has launched a probe into the incident.
In March last year, an e-mail threatening Salman Khan was received at his office following which the Mumbai Police registered an FIR against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.
