22 antique idols stolen from old mutt in Bihar

Samastipur:At least 22 antique idols worth nearly Rs 50 lakh were stolen from an old mutt under Rosera police station area in the district late last night.

 
Police said here today that the outlaws broke the lock of main gate of Bhabhadas Mutt at Purani Bhirha village and took away 22 antique idols worth about Rs 50 lakh. The priest of the mutt first noticed the idols missing and informed the police. Sources said antique idols included those of Lord Ram, Ma Sita and  Lakshman. Police said that the stolen idols were reportedly 200-year old. Further investigation was on.(UNI)
