9 Maoists killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh; huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered

Dantewada: Nine Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada on Tuesday, police said.
 
A huge cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered from the slain Maoists.
 
The encounter between the soldiers and the Naxalites is going on for the last one hour. So far, nine Maoists have been killed in the encounter.
 
According to the information received, this encounter is taking place in Lohagaon Pediya forest.
 
Security forces are continuously firing on the Naxalites, in which many Maoists are reported to have been killed.
 
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai told UNI that the DRG team had gone out on a search when suddenly an encounter started with the Naxalites in which nine Naxalites have been killed so far. Automatic weapons 303, one 47 SLR and 315 bore rifle have also been recovered.
 
He said that on receiving information about the presence of Maoists in West Bastar division, a joint team of police went on a search operation at 10.30 AM on Tuesday morning.
