New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday termed the Agnipath scheme as an insult to the Indian Army and the youth who dream of protecting the country and promised to cancel the scheme when the party comes to power.

The Wayanad Lok Sabha MP also claimed that the scheme was not a plan of the Indian Army but a plan of Narendra Modi’s office which was imposed on the Army.

Taking to social media platform X, Gandhi said, “The Agnipath scheme is an insult to the Indian Army and the brave youth who dream of protecting the country. This is not a plan of the Indian Army but a plan made in the Narendra Modi’s office, which has been imposed on the Army”.
