Hyderabad: The management of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced that a child born at Karimnagar bus station will receive a lifetime free bus pass for travel on their buses.

This decision aligns with the previous policy of granting lifetime free bus passes to children born on RTC buses and bus stations.

On Wednesday, the TGSRTC management congratulated the staff at Hyderabad Bus Bhavan for their humanitarian efforts in assisting a pregnant woman experiencing pelvic pain at Karimnagar bus station. TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar, along with top officials, honoured the staff for their commendable actions.

On June 16, a pregnant woman named Kumari, along with her husband, arrived at Karimnagar bus station to board a bus to Bhadrachalam. When her labour pain intensified at the station, RTC staff quickly called for emergency services (108). As the situation escalated, female RTC staff members assisted in the delivery. A baby girl was born through a normal delivery with sarees used for privacy. Mother and child were later taken to a government hospital by ambulance, where doctors confirmed they were both in good health.

TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar praised the efforts of RTC staff members Syedamma, Lavanya, Sravanti, Bhavani, Renuka, Rajani Krishna, and Anjaiah for their timely assistance. He highlighted the dedication of RTC staff in emergencies, emphasizing their commitment to passenger safety and support.

Company CEO Dr. Ravinder, Joint Director Apoorva Rao, Executive Directors Munishekhar and Krishnakanth, Chief Personnel Officer Usharani, and others participated in the felicitation program.
