Thiruvananthapuram: A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kerala Capital, a person having links with ISIS was arrested from the Vattiyoorkavu police station limit here.

Tamil Nadu native Sadiq Basha, who served 24 months in jail for anti-national activities, was arrested on Sunday with a fake police sticker on his car, sources said.

In September 2022, he was arrested from his wife's house in Vattiyoorkavu by the NIA in connection with fundraising for ISIS.

According to the police version, he came to a mosque here for his divorce, and later created problems with his wife's relatives.

But, there were reports that he visited Vattiyoorkavu several times after his release from jail.

Sources said PM Modi, who will be in the city in connection with an official program, will also attend the conclusion ceremony of the 'Padayatra' led by the BJP's state unit on Tuesday.
