Kerala landslides: Odisha doctor on vacation killed, another missing

Wayanad: An Odisha doctor was killed and another from the same state was missing since Tuesday’s landslides in Kerala’s Wayanad where they had come for a vacation with their doctor wives who were injured and admitted to hospital, officials said on Thursday.
 
The two doctor couples were asleep at Linora Villa resort at Chooralmala when the landslides took place early on Tuesday.
 
The body of Bishnu Prasad Chinnara (34), a government doctor employed in Community Health Centre at Tangi in Odisha and pursuing Post Graduation in Medical College at Bhubaneswar, was recovered on Wednesday. His wife Priyadarshini Paul is undergoing treatment for injuries.
 
Chinnara was a part of a group of four doctors who arrived in Wayanad for a vacation on July 29 from Bengaluru, officials said.
 
Doctor Swadheen Panda is still reported missing, officials said, adding that his wife, Sweekruthi Mahapatra, is undergoing treatment.
 
Sweekruthi and Priyadarshini, residing at Choudhwar in Odisha, were admitted in Dr Moopan's Medical College hospital on Wednesday.
