Maharashtra: Ex-BSF officer dies after drowning in Ahmednagar swimming pool

Ahmednagar: In a shocking incident, a former BSF officer died while swimming in the swimming pool at Wadia Park in the city on Sunday.

The deceased, identified as Sagar Prakash Kalskar (43), was a resident of Tapidas, Ganjbazar, Ahmednagar.

Police said Kalaskar came to Wadia Park swimming pool for swimming along with his relative, when he did not come out of water for a long time, other people in the pool started searching for him.

He was then taken out of water by his relative Rajendra Kalaskar and admitted to the district hospital for treatment, but doctors there declared him brought dead.

The exact cause of his death will be revealed only after post-mortem report, police said.

Police said that Sagar Kalaskar had retired after serving in BSF at Barmer in Rajasthan.

After retirement, he used to come to Wadia Park for swimming.

A case of accidental death has been registered at Kotwali police station in this case, sources added.
