Punjab: Thieves steal batteries from Jio mobile tower in Nurmahal

The Nurmahal police booked unidentified persons on the charge of stealing batteries from a mobile tower.
 
Kuldeep Singh of SAS Nagar (Mohali) and the legal head of Jio Company complained to the police that the unidentified accused stole batteries from a mobile tower of Jio Company installed at Nurmahal town.
 
The investigating officer, Amrik Lal, said that a case has been registered against the unidentified accused.
 
In another case, some unidentified robbers looted an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) of the State Bank of India (SBI) branch located on Palahi Road.
 
The robbers looted lakhs of rupees of cash after cutting an ATM open with a gas cutter and fled with the cash inside after midnight Friday night.
 
SSP Kapurthala Vatsala Gupta, while confirming the incident, said that upon receiving information about the incident, SP Phagwara Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, along with a police team, reached the scene. It was learned that a private agency engaged to upload cash in ATMs loaded cash of Rs 25 lakh on Thursday night, but it could not be known yet how much cash was withdrawn by the customers and how much was looted.
 
SSP said that none of the bank officers came to the police to report the incident until Saturday evening. The loss of cash could not be ascertained yet. However, the police have registered a case.
