A new CCTV footage revealed the devastating fire in Rajkot gaming zone, which killed 28 people, started during the welding work in the extension area.
In the 45 second video clip, sparks due to the welding could be seen falling on a stack of wooden planks, which turned into massive blaze.
In another 1.36 minute long video, a few men can be seen trying to extinguish the fire that started at a low scale. Unfortunately, the fire could not be controlled and it turned into a massive blaze and smoke engulfed the room. The men were then seen running outside the room.
It is noteworthy that there was a fierce fire in the TRP game zone on Saturday. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade personnel along with eight fire engines, including the Chief Fire Officer, reached the spot and with hard work, the fire was controlled.
More than 300 people were in the three-story structure at the TRP game zone when the fire erupted as it was a summer holiday weekend and the entry fees was reduced to Rs 99, as per reports.
The game zone had accumulated over 2000 litres of diesel and 1500 litres of petrol to run generators and go-karting, making it a fire hazard, according to reports.
The Rajkot Crime Branch has detained 10 individuals in connection with the incident. Among those detained are the owner of the Gamezone, Yuvraj Singh Solanki, and two managers, Yagnesh Pathak and Nitin Jain.
In this regard, an SIT has been formed and entrusted with the task of investigating the entire case.
