Kannauj (UP): Around 45 passengers were injured when a double decker luxury bus fell from Agra-Lucknow expressway in Saurikh area of Kannauj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took in the wee hours when the Delhi-bound bus from Jaunpur fell from the expressway in the ditch. "Prima facie it seems that the incident took place as the bus dozed off," they said.
Police sources said that around 45 passengers were injured in the incident. "14 passengers, who sustained serious injuries have been admitted to the medical college. Rest of the passengers are being treated at community health centre," they said.
Police sources said that the seriously injured include Jang Bahadur (52), Lucky Bind (18), Ishika (8), Satyam (33), Aradhana (26), Farhan (25), Kajal Tiwari (26), Rahul Tiwari (29), Raghav Tiwari (9 months), Ila Dwivedi (24), Vikas Maurya (24), Purnima Maurya (26), Shivam (24) and Anita Singh (23).
