Man and his 5 dogs electrocuted in Tamil Nadu

Madurai: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old person and his five dogs trained for hunting hares were electrocuted to death when they came in contact with an illegally erected electric fencing at a farm in Kondayampatti village near Alanganallur in this district on Sunday.

Police said the deceased A.Manickam along with his two other friends and dogs went to the jungle adjacent to the Kondayampatti for hunting hares late on Saturday night.

When they were returning to their respective homes this morning, Manickam and his dogs stepped on the electric fence put up around the cornfield by the farm owner Ashok Kumar (42) to protect the crops from wild boars.

Manickam and his five dogs died on the spot.Alanganallur police have registered a case and arrested the farm owner.(UNI)
