Tamil Nadu: After Kallakuicrhi & Tiruvallur, another girl jumps from college building, unconscious

Chennai: In what is seen as the second incident in the day after the Tiruvallur incident, a B.Pharm girl student jumped from the first floor of her college Monday evening and was admitted to a hospital in an unconscious condition in Villuppuram district of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place at a private college in Vikaravanadi on Monday evening.

The girl had sustained severe injuries and was undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital in Villuppuram.

The girl, a first year student of B.Pharm was found lying on the ground by a staffer of the private college situated at Vikravandi on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway.

Police sources said the girl has attempted suicide --reasons yet to be ascertained--and has suffered multiple fractures in her body.

As there was no CCTV cameras at the spot--which is a gross violation of the state government norms and no witnesses--police have formed special teams to probe the matter. (UNI)
