Police arrested the truck driver, B Mohan, on charges of rash driving and causing death by negligence.

He was produced before a Magistrate and was remanded in custody last evening

Meanwhile, CEO of Zoho, Sridhar Vembu, expressed his sympathies on social media and cited terrible roads as the cause of Shobana's tragedy death.

"One of our engineers, Ms.Shobana died tragically when her scooter skidded in the heavily potholed roads near Maduravoyal in Chennai. She was taking her younger brother to school. Our bad roads have caused a tragic loss to her family and Zoho," Sridhar Vembu wrote on Twitter.

PMK Founder Dr.S.Ramadoss also condoled her death and said no more deaths should take place because of the damaged roads. The Tamil Nadu Government and the Chennai Corporation should take immediate steps to repair all the damaged roads to prevent such deaths in future, he tweeted. (UNI)
