Ballia (UP): The Uttar Pradesh police encountered an unusual case, when the owner of a dog approached it to file a case against a veterinary hospital, for death of her Rottweiler, due to the negligence of the medical staff.
Police said that one Anumodita, resident of Chandrawar village, gave a written complaint to In-charge of Rasra police station, accusing the medical staff of Rasra veterinary hospital of killing her dog by administering an overdose of an injection.
In-charge Rajiv Singh said the matter was being investigated by the police and necessary legal action will be taken, after the post mortem report was received.
Anumodita told reporters on Monday that her dog Harry was being treated at veterinary hospital in Faizabad. She said on consultation of the veterinary doctor, 250 mg dose of a special vaccine was to be administered to Harry for the next seven days.
She said the fixed dose was being administered to Harry at Rasra veterinary hospital since April 15. On Sunday, instead of administering 250 ml dose, the medical staff at the vet hospital administered a dose of 500 ml, due to which the dog died after some time. (UNI)
