Firozabad (UP): A youth has been arrested by the police for editing a photo of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath indecently and posting it on social media from the Surajpur area of Firozabad district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.
Police sources said that Lucky Yadav, a resident of Surajpur under Fariha police station, had edited the photo of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath washing the feet of Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and uploaded it on his Facebook ID.
"RTI activist Avinash Gupta, a resident of Holi Pura, had filed a case against Lucky Yadav on Wednesday," they said.
Police sources said that Gupta in his complaint had alleged that Lucky Yadav had insulted the Sant Samaj by uploading such a post. "He claimed that it was an act of insulting Chief Minister Yogi and this act falls under the category of federal crime," they said.
Police sources said based on the complaint the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (Amendment) Act.
Inspector in-charge Udayveer Singh Malik said that the accused has been arrested and was sent to jail on Thursday.
