Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu felicitates truck drivers who offered her free rides to training

Imphal: Olympic silver medalist, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu broke down in tears as she met truck drivers who helped her during her initial days.

Mirabai had no means to go to Imphal about 25 km from her village for training and truck drivers helped her to reach her destination.

The drivers even came to her residence even when she was late. Mirabai presented gifts to those who helped her and many other truck drivers in a function held at her residence.

Mirabai said she was speechless seeing the people who helped her and it was due to their support that she could get a medal in the Olympics. (UNI)
