Bengaluru: In a startling revelation, another Congress Minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan, was seen striking poses for Instagram reels, seemingly indifferent to the state's mounting problems.

This incident has drawn widespread criticism, painting a picture of a government more interested in social media appearances than governance.

The Karnataka BJP on Tuesday vehemently rapped the stark indifference of the Ministers, even as the state grapples with a severe health crisis. A dengue and Zika outbreak has claimed the lives of 7-8 people, including children, and the healthcare system is overwhelmed. Yet, there is a glaring absence of proactive measures from the government, as the party pointed out.

Taking further potshots at Karnataka Ministers, the BJP alleged that the public health emergency remains unchecked, endangering countless lives even as Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao enjoys swimming pool parties.

"Now that the Health Minister (Rao) has finally dried off from his pool party, here's another Congress Minister (Zameer) striking poses for Instagram reels! Karnataka is going through a tough phase, facing both a health and financial emergency ... while others are seen enjoying themselves in swimming pools. Today, another minister was seen posing for Instagram reels," the BJP thundered on X.

The BJP highlighted this stark contrast to underscore the government's failure to prioritise the urgent health needs of the state.

The BJP denounced the government for failing to control inflation and provide relief to the common people, painting a grim picture of daily life for Karnataka's citizens.

"The financial situation in Karnataka is equally dire. The soaring prices of vegetables have forced schools to serve meals without them, reflecting a broader crisis of affordability for basic necessities," it said.

The BJP's pointed criticism highlights the urgent need for government intervention to support the state's agricultural backbone. "The BJP's allegations of government apathy towards the farmers' plight have sparked outrage and demands for immediate action. Farmers are in distress, awaiting payments for the dairy milk they supplied, with no resolution in sight. This delay is exacerbating their financial hardships, with many struggling to make ends meet," it said.

Amidst these crisis, the BJP has accused Congress Ministers of looting funds intended for the Valmiki and Dalit communities. These allegations suggest that funds meant for the upliftment of marginalised groups are being misappropriated for personal gain. "This corruption scandal has deepened public mistrust and frustration, calling into question the integrity of the current administration," stated the BJP, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in governance.

Compounding the state's troubles is the evident discord within the Congress party. While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's faction faces accusations of fund misappropriation and negligence, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's team is embroiled in a power struggle over the Chief Minister's chair, the BJP alleged. "This internal conflict is further paralysing the government's ability to effectively address the state's urgent needs," it said.

The BJP's criticisms have resonated with many, who see the Congress government's priorities as skewed. "With leaders more focused on social media than on-ground governance, the people of Karnataka are left to fend for themselves amidst rising prices, health scares, and unaddressed financial grievances," the BJP stated.

The pressing need for accountable and effective leadership has never been more apparent.
