BIZARRE! Doctors remove 16-inch bottle gourd from man's rectum in Madhya Pradesh

In a bizarre incident, a team of doctors in Madhya Pradesh removed a 16-inch-long bottle gourd (lauki) from the rectum of a man in a 2-hour operation.

The surgery took place at the Chhatarpur district hospital on July 21.

The 60-year-old farmer came to the doctors with a complaint of severe abdominal pain. After examining the patient, the doctors discovered that a bottle gourd had entered his body through the rectum, causing internal injuries.

The medical team successfully extracted the bottle gourd from the patient's body after two hours of complex surgery. The patient has now been declared out of danger.

It is, however, unclear how the bottle gourd ended up in his rectum. Also, the man couldn’t provide any clarification. There is a possibility that the patient might be suffering from a mental illness that led to this act, the matter is still under probe.
