The construction work of the bridge started in 2021 under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Nirman Yojna. The length of the under construction bridge is 182 meter.

Sikti MLA Vijay Kumar has demanded a thorough probe into the collapse of the bridge. He alleged negligence of the construction firm and the use of substandard materials which led to collapse of the bridge. It was a matter of relief for him that no casualty was reported, he added.

" All those found guilty in the case should be arrested and sent to jail", Kumar demanded and added that no leniency should be shown towards those responsible for the bridge collapse. It was a very serious matter, he noted.
