The US man, who survived having his body cut in half by a forklift five years ago, had to undergo a 'gross' medical procedure whereby 'someone else's poop' was used to heal his gut.

In September 2019, labourer Loren Schauers underwent a nightmare accident when the forklift he was operating plummeted 50ft from a bridge, landing on top of him. He was conscious throughout his hellish ordeal.

Loren survived miraculously but sustained catastrophic injuries, with the lower half of his body completely crushed. Determined to survive, Loren underwent hemicorporectomy surgery, where everything below his waist was amputated.

18 year old Loren's life changed forever, and he's since had to undergo treatments to heal his body, including a procedure whereby he 'put someone else's poop inside himself'.

Loren and his now-wife Sabia Reiche regularly document their lives on YouTube. The couple has opened up about surgery Loren had undergone to heal his gut - a procedure known as a faecal transplant.

Loren said, "I got a faecal transplant. In dirty words, it's taking someone else's poop and putting it inside of yourself just to introduce some healthy gut bacteria. And the procedure went good, really simple. It only took an hour, nice and quick. They just went straight to the colostomy, they didn't have to open me up or anything."

Sabia shared that they had "tried to document some of the faecal transplant" however Loren swiftly opted against this as "it's gross, you don't really want to see inside someone's colon".

Back in May, the couple shared that Loren was struggling to speak as he was in so much pain.
