In a sudden development, Actress-politician and BJP functionary Kushbhoo Sundar resigned from her post as a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW). She was appointed to the post in February last year.
The popular actress said she had resigned the post as she could not get actively involved in day-to-day politics.
While pledging to continue to work for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said she had resigned from the post of NCW Member after consulting BJP National President and Union Minister J P Nadda and Party National General Secretary BL Santosh.
Ms Kushboo said her resignation letter was sent to Rajneesh Mohan Singh, Director, Union Ministry of Women and Child Development and it was accepted.
On rumours of she getting a new role in the party, the BJP National Executive Council special invitee said that she had not got any assurance in this regard from the party high command.
She also asserted she had decided to work actively in the party.(UNI)
